Manchester Regional Youth Hockey Association is pleased to announce our Learn to Play Hockey Program for boys and girls   ages 4 to 8 (must be born between 12/31/2003 and 12/31/2007). Our program will begin on Friday, September 30th, 2011 and consist of Two(2) Twelve week sessions with classes twice a week.Each participant will receive 24+ hours of on ice instruction per 12 week session.

Session 2    01/06/12 - 03/25/12      $149.00


Save $25.00 if you register for both sessions prior to September 30th, 2011

Fridays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the West Side Arena
Sundays from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the West Side Arena


Our Program is designed to introduce a child to the game of hockey and build the confidence he/she will need to play in a game. Each practice will consist of 5 to 7 skill stations with players being divided into small groups and rotating through the different stations. An emphasis will be placed on balance, forward and backward skating, stopping, crossovers, and agility skills. Players will learn puck handling, passing, shooting, and the basic skills needed to play in a game of hockey.Small Ice Games (including Cross Ice 3 on 3) will be introduced to enhance the players ability to stickhanlde, pass, and shoot in a game situation. For a small fee ( $5 per event) participants will be eligible to play in some New Hampshire Amateur Hockey Association Jamborees that will be held throughout the State.
Full Equipment is required and consists of: Hockey Bag, Jock/Jill, Shin-pads, Socks, Hockey Pants, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Neck Guard, Skates, Hockey Gloves, Helmet with Facemask and Hockey Stick .

All Participants are required to register with USA Hockey Online. If participant was born before 12/31/2005 a fee of $35.00 must be paid directly to USA Hockey and a confirmation page with bar code must be supplied to Chris Dructor (LTPH Registrar) by September 30th, 2011.  Please visit MRYHA.org and select USA Hockey Online Registration for more information.
