Pink in the Rink

Pink in the Rink is a charitable organization that puts on a hockey fundraiser for the fight against breast cancer. We originally started as a couple of guys that got our beer league buddies to play in a game at the Verizon before the Monarchs. We did this for 2 years and averaged approximately $3000-$3500 dollars in donations. In 2015, we broke off from the Monarchs and started our own. In 2015, we raised over $17,000 and donated it all to the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. In 2016, we raised over $19,000 and donated $10,000 to ACS and also helped local families whose parent had been diagnosed. We were able to provide money for food, a housekeeper, or whatever else they needed.

This year we look to beat that and continue to focus more on local families. I know that we have helped families in other youth hockey organizations and would also like the opportunity to help any Flames families that maybe affected. We are able to do this through our event.

What is our event? The Pink In The Rink will take Place Sunday, May 21, 2017. The doors to the rink will open at 1000 am and will close when we conclude. We have raffles, silent auctions, face painting, public skate on pink ice, and two hockey games. Our first game is a youth game. This game is open from mites to peewees. We divide the kids into two teams to make it as fair as possible. The games are refereed by actual refs and the old Monarchs' announcer Sean Sullivan will call the game. The kids are treated like pros from entering the locker room to being announced on the loud speaker. We then have a public skate for anyone in attendance before our adult game. Adults can also sign up and will be divided as fairly as possible. We commemmerate those who are fighting, survived, and lost the battle to breast cancer in pregame events.

The kids and adults can register to play on our website:
